The Couple That Mixes It Up. Take 1.
This is Rachael writing, we were at Paul's friend's show tonight (Evan Andree) and I all the sudden decided "hey, people should care about the interesting things I do and cool places I go.."- and thus, this blog was born. Paul and I will just write about bands, restaurants, places we find, or well whatever we want. I know this blog isn't fancy, but hey- we aren't fancy people. Enough about us, now onto the band we listened to tonight.
and...Paul here.
Evan Andree, the man, the band, both represent a refresher course in what music should be doing right out of the gates of the indie scene. Tonight the band played at "Under the Couch" a small venue right out of Georgia Tech. In a small area no bigger than the common Atlanta apartment, the venue is intimate, relaxed, yet thunderous with it's great sound set up. In an environment as relaxed as this the band was definitely at ease while performing, often joking and laughing with the crowd. All that is just the precursor to what ended up being a great six song set. What struck me as the greatness of this band was their attention to the performance of climatic song. Each song featured a roaring of guitars, but always made room for a great performance by their drummer, Travis. Right after returning home, all their free songs have been downloaded and are in the process of making their way to "Blind Pilot (my iPhone)." It's safe to say that this band is a great addition to my collection and seeing them again is on top of the list.
